Our Story

Helicopter parts, straight answers, and relationships built to last.

About Fastrac Heliparts Inc.

Built for the helicopter industry.

Fastrac Heliparts Inc. was founded in 2016 on Vancouver Island in Victoria, BC, with a simple mission: get the right helicopter parts to the right people, right when they need them — without the drama. The company combines the strengths of an aviation veteran who delivers competitively priced parts with a strong customer service focus, and the occasional dad-joke with an aviation newbie who brings a solid business background, creative entrepreneurship and at times a sassy attitude. Together they built a focused, reliable team that helps keep aircraft flying and maintenance schedules on track.

In 2019 the founders shifted gears and moved to Kelowna to soak up Okanagan sun and, naturally, a little wine. After seven years of hustling, strong growth, and watching a few kids graduate and head off as independent adults, Doug and Shannon invested in their own commercial property for Fastrac’s forever home. The company now operates from the lakeside village of Christina Lake in the Kootenay Boundary, BC, where they plan to grow further and invest in the local community.

Fastrac blends practical logistics with deep industry knowledge so customers spend less time chasing parts and more time flying. Whether sourcing globally, managing inventories, or listing parts on Stockmarket and Partsbase, the team takes the heavy lifting out of supply. With plans to increase inventory levels while maintaining their renowned customer service, Fastrac remains committed to transparency, quality checks, strong supplier relationships, and giving back — plus enough dry humor to make lead times slightly more tolerable.

Meet The Team

The people — and personalities — behind Fastrac

Co-Founders

Doug Carey and Shannon Auringer

Shannon Auringer

President

Shannon Auringer is the President and co-founder of Fastrac Heliparts Inc., launched in 2016 alongside her business partner, Doug Carey. An entrepreneur for as long as she can remember, Shannon brings 25 years of business experience, a knack for problem-solving, and a talent for turning complex supply chains into reliably delivered parts — often with a smile and, occasionally, sassy remark.

When Shannon started Fastrac, her goal was simple: offer parts at better-than-competitive pricing and put customer service back where it belongs — front and center. She believes business isn’t just about closing transactions; it’s about cultivating trust, one customer at a time. That philosophy shows in every order, follow-up call, and frank conversation with the team. Under her leadership, Fastrac has grown into more than a parts supplier — it’s a community of customers, partners, and employees who know they’ll be treated fairly and respectfully.

Shannon leads with practical optimism, a fierce work ethic, and the confidence that the right part — and the right customer experience — can fix most problems. Outside the office she’s likely plotting the next operational improvement, mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs, or reminding everyone that good service never goes out of style. She can also be found exploring her new home in the Kootenays of British Columbia.

Doug Carey

VP of Sales & Operations

Doug Carey is the co-founder and Vice President of Sales & Operations at Fastrac Heliparts Inc., bringing 39 years of aerospace industry experience to the role. From the beginning of his career, he has focused on cultivating business relationships worldwide, building a reputation for reliability, integrity, and deep technical knowledge. Doug has worn many hats over the decades — from stores manager to purchasing agent — gaining a comprehensive understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and customer needs.

Despite his broad expertise, his true passion remains sales: identifying opportunities, closing deals, and developing long-term partnerships that drive growth. Doug’s practical approach and strategic vision have helped Fastrac expand its global reach and establish strong supplier networks. He is known within the company for making bold inventory investments to ensure customers receive the parts they need when they need them.

Outside the office, Doug is equally dedicated to family life and is fond of sharing a steady stream of dad jokes that keep colleagues and friends smiling. His combination of seasoned industry insight, entrepreneurial spirit, and personable leadership continues to guide Fastrac Heliparts toward new markets and enduring success.

Savannah Auringer

Savannah Auringer

Inventory Manager

Savannah Auringer is the energetic Inventory Manager for Fastrac Heliparts Inc., keeping parts organized, listed, and ready for action — whether on Stockmarket, Partsbase, or a last minute excel spreadsheet. In her four years with Fastrac she’s perfected the art of intaking new inventories, corralling the warehouse chaos, and turning part numbers into searchable gold.

Based in Kelowna, BC, Savannah is the remote-work wizard who magically appears at the Christina Lake warehouse about three days a month — long enough to keep everyone honest and short enough to preserve her mountain-view commute.

When she’s off the clock, Savannah is a festival-loving, rec-softball-swinging, snowboard-chasing force of nature. Family-first to her core, she balances warehouse spreadsheets with family time and is finishing her BA in Psychology at UBCO this year — because understanding people is useful whether you’re negotiating supplier timelines or convincing teammates that another late-night inventory count was “totally worth it.” Quick with a laugh and quicker with a label maker, Savannah brings organization, hustle, and a healthy dose of fun to Fastrac — proving you can run a parts empire remotely and still make it to Saturday’s game.

Burger

Warehouse Manager

Meet Burger, Fastrac Heliparts Inc.’s self-appointed Warehouse Manager and four-pawed efficiency expert. With a keen eye for missing washers and an uncanny ability to find the exact bolt under the shipping crates (usually after a noble nap), Burger keeps the warehouse organized by scent, intuition, and the occasional swat. He insists on conducting “quality assurance” by sitting on boxes until they submit.

When he’s not auditing stock levels with the gravity of a fur-coated CFO, Burger leads intrepid solo expeditions—long hikes through the wilderness where he practices stealth, tracks mysterious squirrels, and contemplates the aerodynamic properties of leaves. Back at headquarters, his preferred management style blends strategic loafing with motivational headbutts; he’ll supervise inventory counts from the sunniest desk corner, punctuating reports with purrs that mean “looks good to me.”

Burger’s performance reviews are brief and nap-length, and his KPI (Kitty Productivity Index) is unrivaled: 14 hours of sleep, 3 micro-naps, 1 spontaneous zoom, and unlimited catnip sampling. Clients appreciate his punctuality—he shows up precisely whenever the food bowl clangs. Charming, slightly judgmental, and inexplicably good at routing pallets, Burger is the heart, whiskers, and unofficial mascot of Fastrac Heliparts Inc.

Pig

HR Manager

Meet Pig, Fastrac Heliparts Inc.’s earnest (and slightly plump) Human Resources Administrator — here to make sure every employee, human or otherwise, feels adored, disciplined, and offered snacks. Pig’s day begins with a careful review of cuddles policy, followed by one very important round of feeding her babies (a distinguished collection of fruit shaped toys she insists are dependents). She files all complaints under “needs more treats” and resolves conflicts with a well-timed head bonk and an authoritative stare.

Pig’s approach to HR is thorough: onboarding includes a lap-warming seminar, emergency snack drills, and mandatory petting quotas. Her performance metrics are simple — number of toys tucked in, snacks successfully procured, and daily zoomies completed. Speaking of zoomies, no meeting is safe from her spontaneous sprinting demonstrations; they’re equal parts morale booster and speed trial.

Yes, Pig is a little rounder than her self-image, but she’s actively working on it between naps, snack negotiations, and toy feeding sessions. She’s persuasive, affectionate, and surprisingly strict about nap time etiquette. Loyal, fluffy, and always ready to mediate a desk bowl dispute, Pig keeps the Fastrac family happy — one purr, snack, and zoom at a time.
